ABSTRACT
Clinicians are increasingly aware of the challenges associated with making an early and accurate diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Absent a current or past history of obvious mania, the recognition of bipolarity is often late. The key distinction to be made principally is the differentiation of unipolar major depression from bipolar depression.
