ABSTRACT
At the end of the two-day workshop described in the Foreword to this volume, we held an open dialogue of the assembled contributors to discuss the ideas and the issues that had come before us and to offer some direction as to “the road ahead.” What follows is an edited transcript of that discussion. Our dear friend and colleague – Warren J. Samuels – was not able to attend the workshop, but his chapter was read at the workshop, and he offered the following cautionary points in anticipation of the “dialogue” – we include it as a preamble to our discussion.
