ABSTRACT

Action research offers opportunities for the teacher to cope with an immediate problem that would otherwise take a much longer time to resolve. It also brings in many delightful surprises for the practitioner when solving puzzles that have lingered in the everyday classroom. If we accept what Harpaz (2005) proclaimed that learning is more than listening and teaching is more than telling, then action research on pedagogical innovations does make a great contribution to the classroom and school inquiry.
