ABSTRACT

My project stems from a number of questions that trouble my research. As a feminist working within a state institution, I want to use the reconceptualization of academic work to ask what becomes possible when our work is intentionally positioned as both within and against normalized disciplinary conventions, what it would mean to rehearse other practices in some effort to change the social imaginary about discourses of research, pedagogy, and philosophical frameworks. What happens when normatively fixed categories and identities are disrupted?
