ABSTRACT

Assessing globalisation’s effects on culture has been a central component of the globalisation debate from the outset. The processes of globalisation have accelerated the reach, quantity, and intensity of the movement of people, ideas, and images, all key contributors to culture. For many, this is a positive development, bringing with it opportunities for exchange and learning across cultures. For example, Tyler Cowen argues that individual societies are much more diverse as a result of a larger menu of choice.
