ABSTRACT
Together with our contributors, writing this book has been an exciting and, at times, demanding project. In it, we set out to discuss ethical, personal and institutional challenges associated with Participatory Action Research (PAR), to link theory and practice through diverse examples from around the world, and to advance the value of a spatial perspective to understanding the connections between people, participation and place.
