ABSTRACT

Laval University’s planning commission (CAMEO) delineated a 24-hectare site at the fringe of the campus for the development of a new mixed-use neighbourhood. This area is bordered by a post-war suburban neighbourhood with a not-so-thriving high street, private student accommodations in poorly maintained 1960s’ three-storey apartment buildings, the university sports pavilion and a boulevard marking an anonymous campus entrance.
