ABSTRACT
This chapter describes context specific lessons about the application of experimental methodologies to aid in the design and implementation of cost effective water quality and land management policy. Alternate institutional structures were tested in an experimental economics laboratory including an array of potential market settings to inform an on-ground trial of a recharge cap-andtrade scheme.
