The many subdisciplines of psychology favor different research methodologies, each with corresponding strengths and weaknesses. This chapter gives a brief introduction to the college, presents an overview of the requirements for the people major, emphasizes the role that research methods courses play, and highlights what the courses have in common so that the other chapter can emphasize the unique aspects of four courses.
