ABSTRACT
In our project on civic spaces, we make two major assumptions, first, that for the social, political and economic promises of the rise of civil society to be realized, there must be civic spaces available for its daily practices and collaborative engagement among its various organizations. Second, we maintain that civil society can make useful contributions to the governance of cities if it is given the chance to grow and participate in a myriad of issues that go into the making of livable cities.
