ABSTRACT
Good supervision of sandplay therapists is a complex matter. Because supervisors are presented with countless intriguing sandplay scenes to explore, they run the risk of intellectualization and premature interpretation. In addition, the alluring sandplay pictures can lull supervisors into focusing primarily on the symbolic image, to the detriment of other aspects of supervisees' development as fully functioning therapists.
