ABSTRACT

Clinical supervisors in sandplay therapy are dedicated professionals who have obtained the educational experiences required to become certi®ed supervisors of sandplay therapy and have had extensive personal and professional experience in sandplay. As supervisors they serve as mentors who are able to support and nurture their supervisees' strengths and resources, and provide a free and protected learning environment in sandplay training. Primarily these supervisors work from a Jungian (1954) and Kalf®an (1980) orientation, yet are able to use a variety of theoretical approaches in their own practices.
