ABSTRACT

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (2000) describes a boundary as ``something that indicates a border or limit.'' As modern-day clinicians we are constantly aware of boundaries. Our lives are ®lled with terms such as ``dual or multiple relationships,'' ``boundary violation,'' ``inappropriate self-disclosure,'' ``fuzzy boundaries,'' ``ethical behavior,'' ``standards of behavior,'' ``con¯ict of interest,'' and so on.
