ABSTRACT
Scholarship that focuses on youth and subcultures reveals the struggles young people engage in over meaning creation and expression. Social geography is often crucial to this work because the networks of power in which these struggles are located are particularly visible through their spatial orientation. Because the relationships between youth, subcultures and space are richly dynamic, scholars have approached the concerns they raise in a variety of ways.
