ABSTRACT
This chapter presents research into performance assessment in nursing education. Our aim is to contribute to the effective implementation of performance assessment through a research study of the perceptions of the different stakeholders involved, chiefly, students, teachers, and professional practitioners. We specifically address varying perceptions of the utility and the consequential validity of the performance assessment and ways in which performance assessment be improved.
