ABSTRACT
What is the nature of architectural action? On what kind of field does it operate and
through what modes of authorship? The English architect Cedric Price (1934-2003)
redefined some of the ground rules concerning such questions.1 One image, a flow-
chart produced by the Price office making a graphic out of the process of creating the
project for the ‘Fun Palace’, serves to examine critical issues that are raised in his
architectural production (see figure below).
