ABSTRACT
I consider it an honour to contribute to a Festschrift for Richard Wollheim.Wollheim is unique among philosophers in his profound knowledge and understanding of psychoanalysis, which includes the more recent developments. He uses such psychoanalytical concepts as he finds useful to illuminate the broad borderline area of equal interest to psychoanalysts and philosophers, such as theories of knowledge, ethics, and aesthetics.
