ABSTRACT
A feminist pedagogy is committed to knowledge that is ontologically constituted. To be in the world, for women, is to be constituted both by the fiction of woman formulated in the longue durée of history, linked to desire and the unconscious, and by cultural discourses circulating in the immediate historical moment that produce women. Agency occurs in the interrogation of the fiction by contestations of, and negotiations with, the culturally encoded feminine.
