ABSTRACT
Eleanor Rosalynn Smith was born in Botsford, Georgia, on August 18, 1927, to Wilburn Edgar Smith and Francis Althea (Allie) Murray. She was named Rosalynn after her maternal grandmother, who was called Rosa. Rosalynn had two younger brothers, Jerry and Murray, and a younger sister, Lillian Althea.
