ABSTRACT

The goal of this Leadership Foundation Fellowship project was to delineate the wide range of leadership, governance and management issues associated with a ‘deep’1 collaborative enterprise and to consider the change management issues involved in facilitating and embedding strategic collaborative relationships between HEIs. This chapter presents the context, the approach to the project and the key findings and recommendations that emerged. Guidance to prospective collaborators is presented, addressing the issues and challenges that may arise in the early stages of inter-institutional collaboration.
