ABSTRACT

Both D&T and ICT have evolved during a period of what has been unparalleled educational and technological change. As a consequence of the pace of this change the current form of these subjects has become confused and ill-defined, particularly when compared with other longer established foundation subjects such as history, geography, art & design, etc. There is also evidence to suggest that the focus of much of the work done in D&T and ICT has become increasingly ‘outcome’ rather than ‘process’ led, with insufficient focus upon the development of individual creative capability.
