ABSTRACT
This chapter is an approximation to stem cells and therapeutic brain repair for acquired brain injury. Repairing brain injury and its consequences is one of the main objectives of brainstem cell research. In the next pages we focus on the use of stem cells for the remediation of cognitive and behavioral problems associated with different lesional brain sites. Stem cell investigation is also producing an interesting scientific as well as social debate about the possibilities of its use in controlling and curing illnesses; the scientific debate is also occurring in basic sciences which we will introduce below.
