This paper presents the results of an assessment methodology developed by the authors for the strategic evaluation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This type of methodology should permit to assess appropriately a variety of ADAS effects, especially effects on road network efficiency, traffic safety, usability, interaction safety, user acceptance, and the environment. Multicriteria analysis (MCA) was used as the basis of this methodology, which synthesises information from both stakeholder evaluations and technical performance investigations. This paper focuses on the last two steps of the methodology, namely the design of mechanisms that permit effective sensitivity analysis and that address implementation challenges.
