ABSTRACT
The global appeal of amateur boxing is reflected in the 197 nations and territories affiliated to the world governing body (Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur, AIBA) (www.aiba.net, 2006). However, given: (1) its worldwide popularity, (2) the physiological demands that accompany a competitive bout and (3) the added complication of it being a weight classified sport, previous research is limited.
