Lessons learned from ten years of conceptualising, developing, introducing and using nD BIMs

In this chapter, an overview of the conceptualization, development, introduction and use of nD BIMs (Building Information Models) over a period of 10 years is provided. Initially, the conceptualization and development of nD BIMs by a principal contractor in design and construct projects is described. Then, the broader introduction and use of nD BIMs is discussed. In conclusion, recommendations from lessons learned over 10 years of nD BIM innovation are stated.
