ABSTRACT
In a more recent article Neil Cossons, as Director of the Science Museum, questioned some of the value systems of curatorial practice. The paper was given as part of a seminar on scholarship in museums which sought to explore whether the higher public profile of museums and greater commitment to visitors, especially within national museums, were prejudicing accepted standards of research and scholarship.
