Variants ‘b’ to ‘f’ are the possible forms in which integration can be organised. The extra support (as in variant ‘b’ or ‘c’) can be very different: for a physically handicapped student this may be the presence of an aide, for a visually or hearing impaired student the visit of an itinerant teacher, for an emotionally disturbed student extra support for the teacher (for further details see for instance Mittler, 1988).
