ABSTRACT
Asking why one should concern oneself with social problems or try to change the status quo is like asking a mountaineer, ‘Why climb Mount Everest?’ The answer will probably be, ‘Because it is there’. It seems to me that the same can be said of social difficulties; they are there. They surround us and turn the world into a vale of tears rather than the garden of Eden it could be.
