ABSTRACT
The idea of gathering into a volume essays in honour of Sir John Hicks occurred to us a few years ago. His sudden death in May 1989 has strengthened our desire to go ahead with producing The Legacy of Hicks. This volume is thus a collection of essays written in his memory.
