ABSTRACT

During the past decade, the Department of Applied Social Studies (APSS) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU) has been adopting a more open and flexible approach in the delivery of some of its programmes, namely, a Certificate in Pre-Primary Education, a Diploma in Social Work, and a module for a Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling. This has involved twenty-three subjects and has engaged about 50 per cent of the departmental staff in authoring, programme delivery and continuous teaching and learning improvement.
