ABSTRACT

The shrinking budget in Australian education section has forced institutions of higher learning to look for funds from overseas to overcome the financial shortfalls. Internationalisation of QUT courses started around early 1980s and has been very successful in attracting overseas students in the recent years. This paper describes the success of the Faulty of Built Environment and Engineering in securing some of the internationalisation programs with institutions in Indonesia. The programs include joint orientation programs between the University of Indonesia Faculty of Engineering and QUT Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering and joint post-graduate programs in Metallurgy and Materials and Engineering Management.
