ABSTRACT
Western Kansas is a flat, featureless land. There are few points that extend above the horizon other than huge wheat silos that dot the countryside every twenty miles or so. It can be hot, dry and windy. There are no lakes to speak of, so the fishing is lousy. There are not a lot of people, and the nearest large city (Denver, Colorado) is several hours away.
