ABSTRACT
Before I begin, let me indicate that it is not the task of the political theorist to tell people ‘what is to be done’; rather, our vocation, as Hannah Arendt articulated it, is to think what we are doing. And, I would add, to serve as a moral witness to the perils and possibilities of our times.
