ABSTRACT
In his tribute to Tarski on his seventieth birthday Popper wrote: “I have never learned so much from anybody else” (1972/1979: 322). Without repeating everything that Popper has ever said, this chapter attempts to summarize and to evaluate what he learnt from Tarski about truth, and to explain its value not only for logic and for the theory of knowledge but for the philosophy of the open society.
