ABSTRACT
Although, over the years, I have met many interesting people who call themselves Popperians, my original expectations were disappointed. I usually cannot detect the difference between astronomy and astrology to which Bartley alludes in the work of philosophers who claim to follow Popper. Although Popperians stress the importance of Popper’s ideas often and energetically, in practice their work usually isn’t much different from that of other scholars. I have not been able to detect any radical differences between the eight or so Popper conferences I have attended and other academic conferences.
