ABSTRACT

Imagine an education system where none of the educators is trained, indeed, where training is seen as a sign of weakness. There is no curriculum, but the amount to be learnt is vast and it is assumed that everyone knows what it is. There is no assessment, but if people fail the penalties are severe. This is not any old education system, but the foundation for every course, job profession in the country. It is of course the family. Parents are the most important educators in any person’s life, yet they get most of the blame when things go wrong and the least support and training to ensure that all children get the best possible start in life.
