ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to seek to understand the personal and moral values of young people from five countries in the context of their diverse educational and cultural experiences. This will necessitate some discussion of the relationship between developing concepts of adolescence and education in England and the United States, differing educational systems designed for young people in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Arab-Israel, and the expressed values of adolescents in five countries.
