Introduction In physiotherapy many specialties exist, each delineating a specific area of interest. One of the most popular areas of specialization in Europe is represented through the sports physical therapy interest groups. Indeed, of the sixteen member organizations of the Standing Liaison Committee of Physiotherapists of the European Union, fourteen countries reported having one or another activity specifically interested in sports physical therapy (SLCP, 1998).
