ABSTRACT
A lonely vampire, recently come down to the city from his Transylvanian castle, encounters a starving mongrel in an empty church. The dog is desperate for a master and they strike up a pact: although the fastidious ghoul finds canine slavishness distasteful, it will at least be company, so he agrees to vampirize the dog. They go off to feed together on the human mêlée of easy victims in Romania's post-Ceauşescu chaos.
