ABSTRACT
The non-residential building sector in most countries constitutes a very significant proportion of the built environment. The central business districts, suburban centres, institutional buildings and the industrial and warehousing complexes are a major cause of concern in terms of the visual environment as well as their impact on energy requirements for their construction and operation. The resultant impact of these buildings on greenhouse gas emissions is quite significant.
