ABSTRACT
The key questions addressed in this section are the nature of the relationship between cold housing and premature illness and death, and what are the most practical and cost effective ways of handling the problem. The following articles cover a number of recent studies on the effects of cold and damp housing. The purpose of this chapter is to review existing evidence about the extent and nature of effects of cold exposure, and particularly of cold housing, on health.
