The role of the news media in conflict has long been a central concern in the field of political communication. The major areas of concentration include studies that deal with the role of the media in war, in terrorism, and in protests. 1 The topic of media and peace on the other hand has barely been touched. 2 It is helpful to begin by thinking about some of the reasons for this disparity.
