ABSTRACT
In this book we have introduced and discussed a range of theoretical and policy literature around widening participation and social class, relating these to data from working-class participants and non-participants. Chapter 1 introduced some key theoretical concepts and theories and Chapters 2 and 3 provided a historical overview to the widening participation policy agenda. Chapter 4 explored the characteristics of potential working-class participants and attempted to statistically model factors affecting participation.
