ABSTRACT
In the preceding two chapters the employment and industrial structures of Canada, Denmark, Sweden and the United States were examined. In this chapter, the analysis will be continued by an examination of the countries' occupational structures and overall levels of educational attainment. However, in order to prepare the ground for the coming empirical analyses a few pages will be devoted to a discussion of the possible development towards a post-industrial occupational structure.
