ABSTRACT

In the space of three years, between 2000 and 2002, some 60 countries, at the instigation of the Bretton Woods Institutions (BWIs), have prepared, written and validated a Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) responding to common characteristics and standards: centred on poverty alleviation, using a participatory process, with the simultaneous and prioritised incorporation of sectoral aspects, the determination of a battery of outcome indicators and a system of monitoring and evaluation, etc.
