ABSTRACT
This chapter describes a means of providing and evaluating therapy for the language impairment in aphasia. To do this, we first provide a brief overview of the issues involved in evaluating aphasia therapy, outlining some of the hazards encountered. We go on to set the context for undertaking work on the language impairment by describing how therapy addressing specific aspects of the language difficulties fits into a framework of goals for intervention when dealing with the impact of aphasia.
