ABSTRACT

Much of the research on the European Union and the Nordic countries has so far focused upon the individual Nordic countries and their attempts at achieving EU accession. Indeed, this book also incorporates this methodology. Yet, little has been written on the implications for the European Union of wider Nordic membership and vice-versa. To some extent, this book will contribute to redressing this situation as it provides a review of EU-Nordic relations using chronological, state-centred and issue-based approaches.
