ABSTRACT

This chapter is based on a small part of a larger, still not completed study that explores the organizing of clinics specializing in the treatment of eating disorders in Stockholm in the 1990s. A particular focus will be on the Centre for Anorexia, here called the Centre. This clinic started in the early 1990s as a small research group. In the summer of 1997 the County Council of Stockholm signed a regular health care agreement with the Centre. In financial terms, it made the Centre potentially the second largest clinic in Stockholm specializing in eating disorders.
