ABSTRACT
This discussion draws on Vygotsky’s methodological approach and theoretical framework as well as current research in cognitive and neurosciences to expand our understanding of manifestations. Vygotsky’s evolutionary approach starts with the beginning of life itself and focuses on the qualitative transformations that occurred when homo sapiens developed the ability to use symbolic representation to communicate meaning. We suggest that manifestations are in the moment and saturated with historical meanings.
