17 Extension: Learning about Process from Manifestations

In this extension, principles of signs and signification from Peircean theory are layered over the Vygotskian perspective on meaning making. An example of a pedagogical strategy, the Hypothesis Test process, illustrates these principles in the context of understanding a second grader’s manifestations of reading.
